Summer Beauty

With the heat of summer pressing in its sometimes difficult to see the beauty of the season.  As I have struggled this year with our unusually early summer heat and weeks of 100-degree days even before the season officially begins, I have found myself letting these dry hot days get me a little down.  But what’s true is that no matter the season we are in, whether it’s dry, hot, and difficult, or easy and breezy, there is always good and beauty within the season to discover and behold.

So, this summer I have decided to make a point of noticing the things of this hot, dry season that reveal what’s beautiful about it and what I can appreciate about it because, as we all know, the season will change before we know it and we will only remember what we choose to allow to be significant about the season.  I am going to fully celebrate and embrace this season of sun and heat by making a list of the things of beauty that I discover in each day of the season. 

Starting with the official first day of summer and for every day of the summer season, I am making it a goal to document one thing each day that captures my eye.  Will you join me?  I believe there is much that is waiting to be discovered if we only open our eyes to see it. Here’s to a new perspective for these hot summer days ahead and for all the summer beauty and inspiration that we will discover along the way!
